Den anrika brittiska nyhetssidan Arnies Airsoft l\u00e4ggs ned. Arnie som \u00e4r grundaren av webbplatsen uppger i ett publicerat meddelande att den st\u00e4ngs ned 28 februari.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webbplatsen har huvudsakligen \u00e5terpublicerat nyheter\/pressmeddelanden\/nyhetsbrev som framf\u00f6r allt butiker och tillverkare skickat in. Det finns ocks\u00e5 ett diskussionsforum som periodvis varit ganska aktivt. Bland annat har anv\u00e4ndare publicerat h\u00f6jdpunkter fr\u00e5n olika airsoftm\u00e4ssor genom \u00e5ren. Webbplatsen har varit ig\u00e5ng sedan 2001 p\u00e5 dom\u00e4nen arniesairsoft.co.uk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enligt meddelandet s\u00e5 kommer ingen backup tas av webbplatsen. S\u00e5 efter 28 februari kommer bes\u00f6kare i st\u00e4llet komma till n\u00e5gon form av landningssida, gissningsvis fram till dom\u00e4nen f\u00f6rfaller 2027. P\u00e5 grund av att det inte kommer tas n\u00e5gon backup uppmanar Arnie de som har viktiga inl\u00e4gg i forumet att spara ned inneh\u00e5llet innan det \u00e4r f\u00f6rsent. Dock kommer f\u00f6rhoppningsvis det mesta \u00e4nd\u00e5 leva kvar genom Internet Archive och dess Wayback machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anledningen till nedl\u00e4ggningen uppges vara att Arnie inte l\u00e4ngre har tid f\u00f6r webbplatsen och airsoft i allm\u00e4nhet samtidigt som kostnaderna f\u00f6r driften \u00f6verstiger int\u00e4kterna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So folks the time has come the site will shut on the 28th of February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been a blast but time passes and life moves on. I am afraid I have very limited time for the website and airsoft now. That\u2019s obviously reflected here. We are now in a position where the rather substantial costs of running a rather large hosting server are not justifiable any more. The site was never set up for profit and simply as a fun project and then developed into a community resource. We haven\u2019t asked for sponsor or supporter funds in some time as I didn\u2019t feel right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now comes the time for things to draw to a close. The data will not be backed up. There\u2019s far too much data in the forums for me to do anything with it or manage it sensibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 28th Feb the data will go and I will move the domain to a simple holding page. If you have data in the forums please do grab a copy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\/we would like to thank everyone that\u2019s made the community what it is for the last 25 odd years. Without you the site wouldn\u2019t be here or have kept going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
